Ty gets a break

Author's Note: In the book Football Hero Ty changes alot through out the story at first hes a little boy  and later on he becomes a star.

Ty is a little boy that lives with his uncle and Aunt because his mom and dad died in a car crash and now he goes do a different school and he tried out for the football. Ty is underestimated by people because his brother is better than him at football and his brother is big and fast and everybody likes him and his brother his known as tiger. Once his brother went to college for football Ty was very sad and he thought he would never see his brother again. After Ty moved in to his aunts house he had to get to work right away like doing yard work and working for his grandparents cleaning job. I think Ty changes in this story because he was brought down by everybody and he thought he could never play football as good as his brother and later on he really starts to believe he could because Tiger told him to keep trying and never give up.

As the story goes on Ty's grandparents can really see that Ty wants to play football and really wants to be like his brother. A couple months after Ty was living with his grandparents Tiger came to visit and ask Ty if he wants to go to the NFL draft and Ty went and asked his grandparents and they said yea. After he went to the draft Ty came back and he change the way he played football he became more aggressive and studied the plays more. If Tiger never would of came to visit Ty I think nothing would of change because Tiger gave Ty a lot of encouragement and tips on how to get better. Once he showed more aggressiveness in practice the coach said that he could tell how Ty changed the way he practiced and he could also tell that he knew the plays better.

Ty influenced his other teammates by telling them to never give up and also get better by studying the plays after he got better he made more friends on the football team and he also started to fit in. Ty influenced me by never giving up and always try your hardest. I think this relates to real life by NFL players because they always practice and make mistakes but they always help each other and they never give up.

I think Ty changed from being a geeky boy and bad at football to a really cool football player I think he also changed by being a shy boy cleaning businesses for his grandparents cleaning service to a speedy wide reciever. Ty also got stronger by gain  

America

If I traveled back in time I wouldn't tell the founding fathers anything because I like how our country already is because we have freedom and we are protected by our army very good and we also have very good school systems our colleges are very good we have good teachers and the schools do as much as they can to make kids get a better education. Alot of things have change over the years like our technology or our schools and jobs. The United States is trying to make our environment better by making electric cars or have less oil spills in the ocean. If our environment was better our lives would be better and our animals would be healthy and there would be no bad chemicals in our meat from the plants.

Our technology has changed by having new computers and weather stuff to detect hurricanes and other types of storms. If we didn't have this technology today our world would be different because we wouldn't know what kind of weather is coming and we wouldn't be able to contact each other because we wouldn't have phones. Other Technology is our cars because cars become safer and they get better gas mileage by our technology. Phones are also getting better by having directions to places in case you get lost and better instant messaging because if its a emergency it will send faster and you get better coverage. The military also got better technology with there guns and their transportation. Their transpiration got better because they put better medal on it so if they get attacked they have better protection. Also their guns got better because theres some guns that have better range and there's also some guns that can bend around a corner and there will be a screen on the gun so they can see around the corner.

The economy can be bad because food and gas prices go up too high and I don't understand why they get so high I think our presidents do as much as they can to lower food prices and gas prices. To me the war got our economy really bad because the government needed to pay for the ammunition and the guns and the vehicles. I think Obama did good at president because he stop the war and he stood up to the terrorist and their leader. I know most people take the elections serious I don't because I don't really care who our president right now because I have nothing to do with it when im at this age, and thats what I would say to the founding fathers.

Touching Spirit Bear Cause and Effect

Author's Note: This writing piece is about analyzing the cause and effect in a book that we read or an event that happens.

The book that I'm going to be analyzing is Touching Spirit Bear because Cole Mathews burned down this shack on a island and he ended up getting hurt because he passed out because of the smoke. After he woke up he saw the white spirit bear a walking by the river.Cole kept yelling at the bear to go away after he got done yelling at the bear he looks around for his knife and he finds it above his head so he grabs it and he look across the stream where the bear was standing and the bear was gone. Later on that night Cole heard this big boom and it was thunder and lighting after he heard that it started to rain really hard so he covered up with a blanket and fell asleep. When he woke up in the morning he removed the blanket and there was trees down and it was really muddy. When he looked at the stream he saw the big spirit Bear just standing there as he looked at the bear he grabbed his knife and the bear started walking his way. Once the bear got to him the bear started clawing him and throwing him around while he gets thrown around his chin hits a rock and he bit his tongue really bad. After the bear stopped attacking him it ran away after the attack Cole passes out. When he wakes back up his tongue is swollen and his arm is broken with scratches all over it.

The effect this event had on the story is that Cole got severely hurt and he burned down the shack so therefore his second chance would be over and he would most likely go to jail. Another effect is that Cole will be scared for life and he would never forget about it. If this would of never happened Cole wouldn't be hurt or scared for the rest of his life and he wouldn't of lost his last chance. 

Football Champ Conflicts

Author’s Note: I wrote this essay on the main conflict in Football Champ and explaining how it started and how it gets fixed.

               

In the book Football Champ there are many conflicts but I’m going to talk about one. It starts by Troy playing on a football team and troy’s team had this secret guy for them to go and figure out the other team plays. Later in the season the Troy’s football team makes it to the conference championship when the football team travels to the opponents field they have to take a plane so the whole football team gets drop off at the airport with their coach and they try to find their plane while there in line to get their  tickets a person from the paparazzi pulls troy out of line and runs away to this back room and the person starts to question troy about how they got to the championship and how they always jump the other team plays. Troy didn’t answer any of the questions troy asked if they would let him go and the paparazzi said no we will keep you here until you answer these questions.

Troy took off running looking for his mom and his teammates as he’s running through the airport he sees Tate his teammate and he starts running fast and he finally gets there and he tells his coach what happened  and his coach says just stay by us and it won’t happen again. The conflict of this story is that the Paparazzi tries to take troy and ask him about how they made this far and how they acted like they know the opponents plays. They solve this by keeping an eye on the paparazzi and not make as obvious that they cheat and they try not to do it a lot. 

Touching Spirit Bear

Touching Spirit Bear is a about a Teenage boy called Cole Mathews. He is always in trouble with the law once he got in a fight with a kid and he bashed the kids head on the curb and he got caught doing that. He had a choice to got to prison or go live in Alaska for a year by himself.

Camping

Author's Note: The reason I chose this moment is because ive always liked camping and I though would be easy to.

Every year my family goes camping with my cousins and friends our cousins are the ones who set the date for camping because we usually go camping around July or early august. Before we go camping we have to go buy food and other camping stuff. Usually it takes awhile to pack the car because we have so much stuff and most of it is big like cots and a tent. This year We had to put the cots on the roof of the car because somehow we ended up with more stuff and we had last year. We need at least one seat up in the back because I sit in one of the back seats.

                                                                                               

Once were all packed up we leave the drive up to camping is about 2 hours. In those 2 hours I usually play my PSP or look out the window. I never really fall asleep on the way up most of the time I’m either really hunger or really bored. Last year we had to keep checking on the cots and the tent because we thought it would fall off on the highway. when we checked the stuff on the top we stop at the truck stop and I found a squishy fake frog on the sidewalk so I took it and I put it in the window and I rolled it up. So it was stuck in the window and some people in different cars were looking at it and laughing . After awhile I asked my mom when were going to be there and she said in about a hour.

I decided to take a nap to make the time go faster so after I woke up I look around and I can tell were almost there because there is usually really cool rocks and there’s a lot of mountains. Once we go around this corner of a big rock I see the driveway of the camp site. Once we pull in there is only a few people because we got there a day early and most people come on the next day. When We got out of the car we started to unpack right away after we put up our tent we put everything in the tent like our cots and the food that we brought. I couldn’t wait until my cousins come because they usually bring the four wheelers after we got done packing I went up by the fire because it was really cold once I got really tired I just went to bed in the tent. When I woke up in the morning my cousins were here and I saw the four wheelers on the trailer and I took it off and I went for a ride and me and my cousin were going up this steep hill and it was muddy and we started to tip back and we in the mud and we got all Muddy.    

Favorite Basketball Player

My favorite basketball player is Lebron James because I like the way he plays basketball. I like Lebron on the Heat better because he fits the team with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh them three together can be unstoppable. I really hope that Lebron gets a ring so people can stop saying that hes win less I think Lebron is good because he won MVP three times and Kobe only got it twice and that was in the All-Star game that nobody cares about. I hope that Lebron gets a ring this year because I would to hear what people would say.

Technology

 Author's Note: If we didn't have technology I think our world wouldn't be the same because people use laptops for communication and to talk to people on Skype also technology is in phones and people use phones to communicate too.  

We use technology every day including our phones and computers stuff like that. Technology has upgraded a lot since the olden day to bigger screens then they come out with touch screen computers. I like the really skinny laptops because there light and it looks cool. I have a Xbox 360 and that also uses a lot of technology because you can play with your friends online and you can talk to your friends.

Haircuts

 Author’s Note: Haircuts can be really expensive especially for girls because they need to have it condition or curl it or something like that. Me or my dads haircuts only cost like 5 or 10 dollars.

There are so many varieties of haircuts like Mohawks or a buzz cut. A Lot of boys and girls are picky about their hair like they don't want anyone touching it or messing with with it some people take a long time to do their hair. I only have to brush my hair most people have to put gel in it or brush it every two seconds. Every other weekend my dad and I go down to Milwaukee and go get our haircuts every other weekend.      

Cows

 Author’s Note: If I had a farm with cows I wouldn't want to milk them because it would be kind of nasty.

Cows are loud when they moo and also they can produce different things.  White and black cows can produce white milk and they can also produce beef. Cows are helpful to our world if we didn't have cows in the world we wouldn't have milk or beef. I know for a fact that cows aren't easy to take care of  on a farm because you have to milk them.

Faviorte Food (Alberto)

Food is delicious; probably my favorite food is pizza. The reason I like pizza is because of the large variety of toppings. A choosing of pineapple and sausage and pepperoni is very good. I love pizza just like a monkey loves bananas. If there was no pizza ever invented, then my favorite food would then be tacos! That would be for food food though. If I was going to pick a candy it would be butter fingers! Those are so good and they leave will leave your mouth watering for more once you are done. If you want to cook the perfect pizza, first roll the dough nice and thick. Once that is done flatten it out and leave the edges round and puffier. After that, you put the sauce on. Just get a big spook and spread the sauce around. Sprinkle the wanted amount of cheese on and then your desired toppings. Then once oven is preheated pop the pizza in once done dig in!! and that is how you make a pizza.

Keep Your Head Up

Author’s Note: If you make a mistake in sports, like Jerome Bettis, you can't beat yourself up. Just because of that you need to look up at the good things coming down that long stretch of road.

The Steelers were up 21-18 and the ball was at the Colts two yard line. It was the fourth quarter and Jerome "the Bus" was jogging to the huddle. It was over, the Colts were down by 10 points. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could just take three snaps, taking a knee for three consecutive times, forcing the Colts to use all three of their timeouts, or the Steelers could chip a field goal on fourth down leaving Peyton Manning one minute on the clock, maybe less to attempt a touchdown drive, or the Steelers could give it to Jerome and he could run it in. "Jerome never fumbles" said the offensive coordinator. Once Jerome took the ball he fumbled and the colts picked the football up then Big Ben tackles him at the 42 yard line. After Jerome fumbled everybody thought his career was over so Jerome slowly walked backed to the side lines and sat on the bench saying to himself "what did I just do". This book is important to read because it shows readers you can accomplish your goals with hard work and determination.

Once the Steelers won the Super Bowl Jerome Bettis announced his retirement on the champions podium, holding the Vince Lombardi trophy. Hines Ward said in a Super Bowl Commercial I'm going to Disney Land and I'm taking "the Bus". I, along with the team respect Jerome Bettis because he helped rookies out and he was a very nice person. He helped out sick kids in the hospital and helping the community out by building homes. He also helps running back rookies out by giving them tips and telling them what not to do and what to do.

On January 31,2006 Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the city council gave the key to the city to Jerome and declared Jerome Bettis week for being a shining example for kids. After all that Jerome moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the end of his career and is still currently living there.

Before the Steelers home opener of the 2006 season a large school bus drove onto the field and Bettis stepped out to a massive crowd ovation. The Steelers team didn't know that Jerome was coming back. The reason the Steelers team like him so much is because he was a good respectful player.

The Backwards Bird dog

Author’s Note: This story is simply a point of view from a hunting dog. The reason I got this book because I wanted to see whats it is about and it has a awkward title.

It was an awful sound as Old Blue howled at night, the sound crept through our kennel. As the sun came over the trees all of my sisters and brothers started to just wake up. As our owner got us breakfast all of my sisters and brothers ran to the bowl to eat ,we were so hungry we could barely wait. After all of us ate we started to play around, when I was chasing my sister around the kennel my feet slipped through the wired kennel and I hit my chin really hard but I got up fast and stilled played around as we were playing this big machine came by and parked then these weird people started to come up to me and started to pet me I asked my mom what is that and she said that they are our owners they are the ones that tell us what to do. We sniff out the quail for them and then we give it to them so they can eat it. After mom told that story all the my other sisters and brothers were ready for dinner soon enough our owner came out a door and was making mouth noises then he put the food down on the ground and we all ate and then went to bed.



I woke up with the chills and the cold gusting wind blowing against my fur as I get up to look around all of a sudden I hear voices in the air which frightened me so I ran to my mom and snuggled close to her and laid back down and went back to sleep. The next morning after all my brothers and sisters ate breakfast another big machine came up and a person got out and take me and my sisters and brothers then I look back and mom is still in the kennel. The next thing I know I'm in a different cage my brothers and sisters start to look around to see where we are then I look down at the ground and I see dirt on the floor instead of those metal wires in the other cage but I like the dirt better than the wires.

After awhile my sisters and brothers start to get hungry so we all start to try and get attention and start to bark. Then a person came out of the house and started to give us food as I ate I started to wonder if mom was okay . I try not to think about it as much. After I ate, I looked up and there was my mom walking towards me. All the sudden I get up and start to bark and tell my sisters and brothers that moms back as we all get up to look at her she gets in the kennel and we all start to jump around when we all settle down I ask her why did we get separated then she said I don't know why maybe because they wanted to see how you guys would do with out me. By the way how did you guys do did you eat dinner. Yes we we hate dinner but we were sad at night time because we always used to cuddle with you. Okay you go to sleep tomorrow is a big day why is it a big day tomorrow mom because we go Quail hunting what is that son I already told that just go to sleep.

The next morning we woke up early to go hunting for Quail after our owners put us in the back of this big machine. When we got there there was nothing but trees the owner let us out the back. When we got out we waited for our owner he started to make mouth noises I'm not sure if he was talking to us or not but I started to smell Quails from a short distance so I start to follow the smell and all the sudden these birds pop out and then I hear gun shots and the birds falling back to the ground at first I felt kinda sad and happy at the same time because I did something good for the owner. After I go over and pick up the dead birds with my mouth and bring them to the owner and he gives me a treat. After that's done it was my brothers turn so a few hours later we cant find anymore so we just go back home and eat dinner. After that me and my brother just start lay down and I say to mom and ask her will I ever do that again yes son you will now go to sleep you had a long day.

Randy Moss

Author’s Note: This book could teach younger kids if something bad happens always look ahead to the good things

Randy Moss was born in Charleston, West Virginia. He grew up with his mom who was having a hard time because she was a single mom. Randy's mom kept him going to church for three times a week and never allowed swearing or any kind of alcohol and drugs. Maxine, Randy's mom, worked two shifts but still tried to keep him out of trouble. As a result of being brought up in this way, Randy Moss found success in College, High School, and the NFL. The Randy Moss Story, by Mark Stewart, will teach younger kids if you mess up look ahead to the good things.

Randy paid attention in school and spent most of his free time playing sports. Randy had a role model in life, his half brother Eric who was two years older than Randy. Eric played basketball and football and was in an All-American football player. Eric was the one who got Randy to like football Randy carried Eric’s football gear from practice and to practice. Randy could barley wait for his chance to suit up.

 When Randy’s mom came home she dragged herself into bed every day because she sometimes worked a 20 hour day. It broke Randy's heart because his mom never spent with him. Randy’s teachers at school also helped Randy keep up don’t look back to the bad things. Maxine Rand’s mom was also kind of a role model. When Maxine came home late he thought to himself he can’t do that if he wanted a career in the NBA or NFL.

 Randy got in trouble because he got caught smoking with one of his friends. The day after that Randy had to get a drug test for high school and the test came back positive so Randy had to go to jail for 30 days or more. After Randy got out of jail he got to work right away and started to work his way back up to where he was. Fewer colleges wanted Randy to come because some teams heard about it on the news other colleges said he deserves a second chance. After Randy had a meeting with Marshall he went home and did his homework and said to himself that he needs to straighten up or there will be no colleges that want him. After Randy finally got back on track he got in even more trouble by getting in a fight with another student. Randy’s coach caught Randy kicking the other student and then someone called the police and they showed up and arrested Randy on the spot. He went to court the next day and he got sentenced to 120 days in jail for assault.

Notre Dame no longer wanted Randy to play for their team but Florida State still wanted Randy to come so he accepted the offer and went to practice. Scouting was coming Randy was so excited for this day to come. It took awhile for the NFL scouts to make a decision also the day for the Heisman Randy finish fourth in the running. Finally Randy got a call from the Minnesota Vikings after 19 teams skipped Randy because what he did in college. Randy was happy that he got picked from the Vikings right when Randy went to Minnesota young fans wanted his autograph Randy’s first career touchdown was a magnificent. He ran a streak down field and turned around right when he turned around he had to change his whole body because the ball was thrown behind him and tipped the ball away from the defender and caught it with his other hand and slide into the end zone Randy was so happy when he got back up and realized that he was in the end zone.

Short Story

Hello my name is Jerry I am a mouse. It has been very cold around here and this white stuff is falling on the ground and its fluffy and very cold. I have been trying to find a warm place to have a home but almost every alien house as a trap and hard to avoid them I saw my cousin killed by one it was very sad. I think I found a alien house to live the alien is wrinkly and has a cane but so far this house has been very warm and has no traps. I think this alien needs a name and I am going to name him Mr.Nice Guy yea that sounds good. Now I just need to find some friends in this house I found lots of food in this House and I think Mr Nice Guy saw me and the alien just walked away. ( 1 day later) I made it through day one and found some more food, now today I have to find a family. As I turn the corner I see a big colony of mice I got really happy so I ran to the nearest mouse I could find and I asked him if I could join his colony and he said why not and he introduced me to all the other mice. I think this colony is actually nice and I could stay with them for the rest my life, I hope.

Author's Note:There is all different kinds of bubblegum machines there is little ones that you can by and big ones that are in stores. There is also all different kinds of bubblegum with stuff inside them like nerds or a sour flavor. 

Hello, my name is Mr. Gumball and I'm talking to you because I want to tell you how lucky I am because I have all different kinds of flavors inside me like blue,green,and red and allot more. Its so fun when aliens put money in me and twist the nob and I spit out a gumball at you but before it comes out of my mouth on the bottom it goes down my twirly stomach. When I run out of gumballs these wired aliens fill be back up and I'm filled with joy and more gum for more little aliens and i get to have more money in me. I travel all over the world first I was born in Atlanta, Georgia the i got shipped to this really big warehouse with my friends and all me and my friends did was just sit in boxes for awhile then we finally get put in the store and aliens put money in me and I spit a gumball at them. One time I was standing next to my friend and one of the aliens pushed him over and he fell and cracked after that i was mad and sad at the same time because he was my best friend and he died in front of my eyes and I never saw him again. Days after that I found a new best friend and we always give bubble gum to little kids.
